About the Author
Frederick William Faber lived from 1814-1863 and grew up in Westmorland, England. Though he held to Calvinism in his youth, Frederick had given it up 1837, when he became a fellow of the National Scholars Foundation. He wrote many hymns, poems and other works, including Faith of Our Fathers, The Pilgrims of the Night, The Eternal Father, All for Jesus, Spiritual Conferences, and The Foot of the Cross.
Frederick Faber also founded the Wilfridian religious community at St. Wilfrid's, with John Henry Newman as the eventual superior when the order merged with the Oratory of St. Philip Neri. He died on September 26, 1863.

Finally, I see the light

I can say that the state of mind I was in was horrible! I have never experienced anything like this or even knew anxiety can have such a huge impact on your life. When I found his website and read the book, I cried. At last, I had an explanation that even a doctor could not tell me. I loved it so much, I purchased three and gave them to friends who I knew who experienced anxiety as well. I highly recommend this book to a sufferer of anxiety. Just when you think this monster called "Anxiety" has robbed you from your personality, you then see a light at the end of the tunnel. God bless.

I read this book during a time of high anxiety. It made me cry. The words the author wrote were feelings I was experiencing. The suggestions to decrease my anxiety worked. When you are going through a period of anxiety is feels comforting to know you are not alone. I would recommend this book to anyone with anxiety issues.

It has given me permission to sit with my feelings instead of running from them. And by reading other people's stories, it has helped me feel not so alone and realize I am not crazy.
