About the Author
Hailed as "the father of Yoga in the West", Paramahansa Yogananda - author of the spiritual classic Autobiography of a Yogi - is regarded as one of the great spiritual figures of our time. Born in northern India on January 5, 1893, he devoted his life to helping people of all races and creeds to realize and express more fully in their lives the true beauty, nobility, and divinity of the human spirit. After graduating from Calcutta University in 1915, Yogananda took formal vows as a monk of India's venerable monastic Swami Order. Two years later, he began his life's work with the founding of a how-to-live school since grown to twenty-one educational institutions throughout India where traditional academic subjects were offered together with yoga training and instruction in spiritual ideals. In 1920, he was invited to serve as India's delegate to an International Congress of Religious Liberals in Boston. His address to the Congress and subsequent lectures on the East Coast were enthusiastically received, and in 1924 he embarked on a cross-continental speaking tour. Over the next three decades, Paramahansa Yogananda contributed in far-reaching ways to a greater awareness and appreciation in the West of the spiritual wisdom of the East. In Los Angeles, he established an international headquarters for Self-Realization Fellowship, the nonsectarian religious society he had founded in 1920. Through his writings, extensive lecture tours, and the creation of Self-Realization Fellowship temples and meditation centers, he introduced hundreds of thousands of truth-seekers to the ancient science and philosophy of Yoga and its universally applicable methods of meditation. Today, the spiritual and humanitarian work begun by Paramahansa Yogananda continues under the direction of Sri Mrinalini Mata, one of his closest disciples and president of Self-Realization Fellowship/Yogoda Satsanga Society of India since 2011. In addition to publishing his writings, lectures and informal talks (including a comprehensive series of Self-Realization Fellowship Lessons for home study), the society also oversees temples, retreats, and centers around the world.

About the Author
Deborah Muller is an artist, illustrator, pastor's wife, and gypsy at heart. Deborah was born in Laguna Beach, California, and lives in a quaint beachside town in Florida. She has lived abroad and continues to travel extensively, believing life is an adventure and it is important to enjoy the journey. Deborah is a graduate of the Brooks Institute and has been a full-time artist for over thirty years. Deborah has been a henna artist for fourteen years and her love for detailed henna patterns led her to develop the uniquely intricate drawing style she calls henna-doodles. Her hope is that readers find coloring her artwork a fun and inspiring experience.

Absolutely Wonderful

Posh Publishing recently released a set of 4 coloring books by Deborah Muller, each with a specific spiritual theme. They include 'Inspirational Quotes for Fun & Relaxation', 'Hymnspiratons for Joy & Praise', 'Prayers for Inspiration & Peace'...and finally 'God Is Good'. This last in the set arrived at my door from Amazon just this week.

I must admit that I almost didn't purchase this book. Why? Because each of these wonderful books contains 126 drawings, and I want to color them ALL. Every picture in these books is a work of art that inspires me as a colorist and a Christian. This latest book in no exception.

So, I am resigned to the idea that I will be coloring more than 500 pictures, before I complete all of Deborah's wonderful and heart touching volumes. At one per day, I won't complete that project for about a year and a half.

7 x 9.5 inches makes this book the perfect size to take along in your purse, briefcase or back pack. The cover is thicker than most coloring books...more like a hard cover book.

126 Designs of God's Infinite Greatness by Deborah Muller – printed on both sides of page

I first found her work in some spiral bound books and a Christian-based coloring calendar. I own the calendar and because of that wonderful artwork, I pre-ordered all four of these books. The first was general in nature but the last three, including this one, are Christian-based.

For me, it is the perfect coloring book to pull out when my spirits are down and I need to be reminded of who is in control. Many of the designs include Bible quotes that tell of God's promises. These are perfect to focus on when I think that life is spiraling out of control. It gives a perfect anchor to my spirit to color and contemplate the message.

For my first project, I chose to do Joshua 1:9. It was just the message I needed that particular day. I used Bic Mark-it alcohol-based markers even though they bled through. I will certainly be buying a second copy of this book as I want to color many of the designs and I like to use a variety of mediums.

I am always looking for good quality Christian coloring books that have great coloring opportunities. Ms. Muller's hand-drawn artwork is a lot of fun to color and have detailed and sometimes intricate parts to them.

I will provide a detailed explanation of what I found in the book below, but here is a quick overview:

126 Christian-based Designs
Designs are printed on both side of non-perforated white paper
Designs do not merge into binding
Binding is glued
Alcohol-based markers bleed through the page
Water-based markers are mixed with Tombows working the best
Gel pens work well and do not bleed through
Coloring pencils work well with this paper

The designs are printed on both sides of a medium weight non-perforated paper. All of the designs are limited to one page and they do not merge into the binding. As the binding is glued rather than sewn and as there is space between the design and the binding, you can cut the pages out without losing any of the design. I suggest that you do so carefully as you need to be sure not to damage the design on the back of the page. I was able to break the spine enough to get the book to lay fairly flat.

Most of the designs have finished elements on the sides and/or have a framing line that defines where the colorist can stop. I really appreciate this as it gives my project a good finished look when I am done. There are a few that are open-ended but the majority are well finished.

I test my coloring books for how they work with a variety of coloring medium (I will list those in the comments section below). Here is what I found in testing this coloring book:

All of my alcohol-based markers bled through the paper immediately. The water-based were rather mixed. My Tombow's did not leak through when I used the brush end but did with the fine point side. My other water-based markers did not bleed through completely but did leave color shadows on the back of the page. None of my gel pens leaked through and they did not require additional drying time. My coloring pencils worked great and behaved according to their lead type (hard/soft lead).

If you want to color with any medium other than coloring pencils or gel pens, there is a good chance you will destroy the design on the back of the page you are working on (and be sure to put a heavy weight piece of paper or card stock under your work so it won't leak through further.)

Beautiful book full of inspirational and scripture quotes as well as flowers and trees and cute animals to color. Book is approx. 7x9.5 it is printed on both sides of the pages completely full of hours of fun that can be spent worshiping and spending time with the Lord. I will use this book a lot I believe.

Shu T. Lai is currently a visiting scientist at the Space Propulsion Laboratory, Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a senior editor for "IEEE Transactions on Plasma Science". Not your ordinary time management book

Quite simply this book could change your life. The author describes a process that I've only just realized myself - I wish it hadn't taken me decades to work it out. It is the concept that we have a personal focusing level - it may be ten minutes at a time, or in my case it varies by day - sometimes I do five minutes, sometimes, fifteen. Finding that sweet spot is important because beyond that we find ourselves hitting diseconomies of scale when it comes to our productivity. He had other great ideas but this was the one that smacked me between the eyes.

The author goes into some detail to support his ideas and I appreciated this - not something you usually get from a small Kindle book. And if you're overloaded with commitments (and who isn't) and finding yourself becoming less and less productive, I heartily recommend this book and suggest you read it.

Contains Truths I Had Not Found in Other Books of its Kind

I gave Michal Stawicki's book five stars because it accomplished its goal: to help me master my time in ten-minute chunks.

SO many self-help and time management books cover the same tips over and over... and that's to be expected because truth is truth. There are only so many universal truths that apply to everyone.

But Michal's book was different. He challenged some of the parroted techniques and praised others, but mainly encouraged me to find my OWN methods for making the most of my time.

My takeaways were numerous but the most valuable to me was the idea of committing to establishing ONE ten-minute daily habit at a time, then leveraging my willpower by starting another when the first habit becomes so entrenched that it doesn't need "willpower" to reinforce it.

Also, the "grains of sand" idea was magnificent; a prepared list of activities that support one's life mission but can be accomplished in ten minutes or less. I've already begun to salt and pepper ten-minute "productivity moments" into my day, starting with Michal's and my shared love of pushups.

Give this book a read if you are like me; an intellectual suffering from information overload. Michal Sta will help you focus. Instead of killing time you'll work it to death :-)

More than time management

The headline might be all about mastering your time, but this book is really all about mastering your mindset in very specific ways.

I totally identified with the author - juggling several different roles we play in our lives can become not just a logistics nightmare, but a way to distract us from what's truly important.

I liked the glimpses we got into Michal's life - it anchored the tips in the book for me, as did the often provocative questions that pepper the book.

Great read.

About the Author

Rob Burgess is a scientist, entrepreneur, businessman, and author who switched scientific disciplines in 2006 at the age of 38 to take a chance on nanotechnology. It changed his life forever. He has held numerous academic and industry-related positions, including research fellow at the University of California, San Diego; founding scientist at Lexicon Genetics Incorporated; founder and president at Genome Biosciences Incorporated; vice president, research and development, at Zyvex Corporation; and vice president, business development, at Stem Cell Sciences, LLC. He is currently founder, chairman, and president at Medical Nanotechnologies Incorporated and an adjunct professor in the Department of Molecular and Cell Biology at the University of Texas, Dallas. He holds a bachelor of arts in biochemistry from the University of Texas, Austin, and a Ph.D. in molecular biology from the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Houston.
